The prop firm playbook
Which account should be your leader? How to pick it for a group of prop firm accounts
Every copied trade starts on the leader. How to choose it: the account you actually trade, the smallest position limit, and the platform you use.
In a copy group, the leader is the account you trade; every follower copies its fills. Picking the right one makes everything else simpler.
1. The account you actually trade
The leader should be the account your charts and order buttons are connected to. You trade it from your usual platform, and the copier does the rest.
2. The smallest position limit
If your accounts have different maximum contract limits, make the account with the smallest limit the leader. Followers at ×1 then never trade more than the smallest limit allows, and you raise the multiplier only on the accounts that can take more. If the biggest account leads, every smaller follower needs its own multiplier and cap to stay inside its limit.
3. One plan per group
Accounts that should trade differently belong in different groups. A group is one plan: one leader, the same trades, each follower at its own size.
4. What the leader is not
- It is not protected by follower protection. Safety checks that close a drifting follower never touch the leader.
- It cannot follow itself or another leader in the same moment: one account belongs to one group.
- It still needs its own limits. Give the leader the same daily loss limit you give the followers.
Where Replica fits
In Replica a group is one leader and as many followers as you like, at any of your connected brokers. An account belongs to one group and can never lead or follow itself. Flatten All closes the whole group, leader included. Set it up: copy groups.
