Copier

Trade one account.
Replica copies the rest.

Replica runs on your own Windows PC, watches the account you trade from and, the moment an order fills there, sends a market order for the matching size to every follower account. This page is a plain description of what the app does today: how to connect your brokers, how a copy group works, and the rules that keep followers in step. New here? Start with Quick start.

A market order on the leader (left) lands on every follower in the Cockpit (right), each sized by its own multiplier.

Quick start

From install to your first copied trade.

Replica is a desktop app for Windows (64-bit). It runs on your own PC and talks to your brokers directly; orders never pass through a Replica server. It has to be open for copying and risk rules to work.

  1. Connect your brokers

Open Connections and add Tradovate, ProjectX (Topstep) or Rithmic. Every account under that login appears straight away. See Connections.

  2. Build a copy group

In Cockpit, choose Create Group, pick one leader, add followers and set each one's multiplier. See Copy groups.

  3. Trade the leader

Keep Replica open and trade the leader account exactly as you normally do, on whatever platform you like. Each time an order fills on the leader, every follower gets a market order for its own size, and its card in the Cockpit shows the copy land. If any account is holding something from before, Flatten All on the group starts you flat.

Connections

Connect once. Every account shows up.

Replica connects to Tradovate, ProjectX (Topstep) and Rithmic. Each connection can be given an optional name, and its accounts then show under that name instead of the broker's account codes.

Tradovate

Choose Demo or Live (most prop-firm evaluation and funded accounts are Demo), then sign in to Tradovate. Replica does not save your Tradovate password; it keeps the session token Tradovate issues. So the session doesn't expire while Replica is closed, Replica automatically keeps it renewed on its server for up to 72 hours; see Security & updates.

Rithmic

Use the username and password your prop firm or broker gave you (not your Replica login). Replica asks Rithmic for the Systems authorized for those credentials and then discovers the gateway information for the selected System dynamically, so the public app does not rely on a hard-coded prop-firm/System catalog or a manual gateway choice.

ProjectX (Topstep)

For Topstep accounts. Enter your platform username and your ProjectX API key. Use the username your trading platform shows, which may be different from your email. One Replica connection covers every account under that login. Turn ProjectX's own built-in copier off on any account you use as a follower, so the same trade isn't copied twice.

Before connecting a Rithmic account

  • Sign your market-data agreements on your broker's own platform first. An unsigned agreement is the most common reason Rithmic rejects a connection.
  • Check your accounts are visible in your broker's own dashboard.
  • The wrong System is the most common reason a connection fails, so confirm it with your firm if you're unsure.
Copy groups

One leader. Up to ten followers.

A copy group is the shape of your setup: the account you trade from, and the accounts that mirror it. You build it on one screen. Pick accounts on the left and the group draws itself on the right as you go.

  • One leader per group, with up to 10 followers. Each follower has its own multiplier from ×1 to ×5 and its own contract setting: Same (the leader's contract) or Micro.
  • One group per account. An account already in a group is marked, so the same account can't be copied twice by accident.
  • Several setups at once. Open extra tabs to draft more than one group, then create them one after another.
  • Mix platforms. A leader on any of the three platforms can copy into followers on any of the three. Replica finds the matching contract on each follower's platform.
  • Pause without deleting. Switch a single follower between Market Execution and Off, or Disable the whole group. Accounts stay in place and copying stops until you turn it back on. Removing a follower stops copying to it immediately.

Before a group goes live you name it and review its safety rules. Copying runs while Replica is open and the leader's connection is on.

Sizing

Every follower trades its own size.

Each follower's order is the leader's fill multiplied by that follower's multiplier. The multiplier is a plain contract count, nothing is scaled to account size or dollar exposure for you. That's how a 50K and a 150K account take the same trade at the size you chose, without any manual maths.

Leader fills×1×2×3×5
1 contract1235
2 contracts24610
3 contracts36915

Micro maps the leader's contract to its micro: 1 NQ at ×1 becomes 1 MNQ, at ×5 it becomes 5 MNQ. If a leader contract has no micro equivalent Replica can trade, that follower sits the fill out and the skip is logged, rather than guessing another contract or expiry.

Partial fills and partial exits scale the same way: Replica works out the position each follower should now hold and sends the difference, so a follower closes the same share of its position as the leader.

What gets copied

Entries are copied from fills, at market.

Replica copies what actually executes on the leader, not the orders you place. However an order got there (a market order, a limit that filled, a stop or a bracket leg that triggered), the moment it fills each follower is sent a market order for its size. Once a follower holds its copied position, Replica can also place a copy of the leader's stop-loss or take-profit on it at the broker, so the follower stays protected while Replica is closed. When the leader's stop or target fills, the followers exit too.

On the leader

  • Any order that fills: market, limit, stop, bracket take-profit and stop-loss
  • Any compatible trading front end: the leader activity may originate from another front end connected to the same supported broker account, subject to that broker's session rules
  • Partial fills and scale-outs

On the followers

  • Entries at market, sized by each follower's multiplier, once the leader's order has filled
  • One protective order, on every broker. After the copied entry fills, the leader's Stop (or its take-profit Limit, if it has no Stop) is placed on the follower for the copied size. A follower holds only one such order: when the leader has both, the Stop rests at the broker and the take-profit follows the leader's fill.
  • Native brackets, Tradovate to Tradovate. When the leader and the follower are both on Tradovate, a supported take-profit and stop-loss pair is copied as one broker-native OCO bracket: when one leg fills, Tradovate cancels the other.

Never on a follower

  • A leader's working entry order. A limit or stop entry that hasn't filled yet is not placed on followers; the entry is copied once it fills.
  • Shapes Replica can't copy exactly. Trailing stops, stop-limit orders, multi-target and other ATM strategies are not copied, never guessed.
  • Your manual trades as copies. A position you open by hand on a follower is never adopted into the copy; with follower protection on it is closed instead (see Safety rules).

Because followers enter at market after the leader fills, their fill prices can differ slightly from the leader's, especially in fast markets or when the leader used a limit order. A protective order resting on a follower is a real broker order: it can fill at the broker even while Replica is closed.

Safety rules

Built to keep followers in step.

Every group has two safety rules. You review them before the group goes live.

Prevent hedging

On by default, and you can switch it off per group. When a follower has to change direction, from long to short or short to long, Replica closes the current side first, waits for the broker to confirm the account is flat, then opens the new side. No follower ends up holding both sides.

Follower protection

On by default for every group, and you can switch it off per group. When the leader goes flat in a contract, any follower still holding that contract is flattened too. The normal copied exit goes first; protection follows about a quarter of a second later and only acts on what's left over. It catches the cases a plain copy can't:

  • A follower that only partly closed.
  • An exit the broker rejected or rate-limited.
  • A position opened by hand on a follower account. Followers belong to the copier while protection is on, so manual trades on them are closed. Trade manually only on the leader.

Follower protection never touches the leader. Closing the leader is always your call.

When something doesn't add up, Replica stops

  • A stopped follower resumes by itself. If protection has to step in, or a broker rejects an order and the outcome is unclear, that follower gets no new copies. Replica then keeps checking it at the broker, observation only, and sends nothing to "fix" it. Once fresh broker data shows the account flat with no working orders, copying resumes on its own. If the leader is still in a position at that moment, the follower waits until the leader is completely flat and then copies the next fresh entry. An order whose outcome is unknown is never re-sent blindly.
  • No guessing. If Replica can't read a follower's live position or price, it doesn't trade that follower rather than assume.
  • No duplicates. Every fill is copied once, even if the connection drops and the broker sends the same fill again. Orders Replica itself placed on a follower are never mistaken for leader signals.
  • No catching up. A follower that missed a fill (switched off, stopped, or disconnected) is not filled later on the next unrelated leader trade.
  • No wrong contracts. If a follower can't trade the matching contract, it sits that trade out and the skip is logged.
Flatten

Get out of everything, in one click.

There are two Flatten buttons. They work the same way and differ only in which accounts they touch. Each one cancels the account's working orders first, confirms they're gone, reads the live position again, closes it, and confirms the account is flat, so a resting stop or target can't reopen a trade a moment after it closes.

ButtonWhereWhat it closes
FlattenOn any account's card, in Cockpit or ConnectionsThat one account
Flatten AllOn a group, in CockpitEvery account in the group, leader included
Flatten AllOn a connection, in ConnectionsEvery account under that broker login

While a Flatten runs, copying to those accounts pauses, and any fill that arrives in the meantime is ignored rather than queued. Copying resumes once the broker confirms the account is flat. If that can't be confirmed straight away, copying to it stays stopped while Replica keeps checking the account at the broker (observation only, nothing is sent), and it resumes by itself as soon as the broker shows it flat with no working orders. If live position data isn't available, Replica still cancels working orders but won't guess at positions; it tells you to reconnect and try again.

Home & Cockpit

Every account on one screen.

Home opens with today's P&L, trades today, connected accounts and open positions across everything you've connected, then lists every account with its balance, positions, P&L and distance to drawdown. Cockpit shows each copy group as a tree (or as lanes), leader on top, with live figures on every card and the group's totals in its header.

Copying
How many followers are live, out of how many are in the group.
Capital
The balances of every account in the group, added up.
Balance
The account's current balance.
Positions
What the account is holding right now.
Daily P&L
The account's closed result for today, net of commissions and fees.
Unreal P&L
Open profit or loss. If there's no reliable live price yet, Replica shows it as unknown rather than $0.00.

The figures repaint from Replica's own live cache several times a second; that doesn't mean your broker is being polled that often.

Risk Management

Write your rules down. Lock them in.

Risk Management lists every connected account, grouped by platform, so you can set the limits each one trades under. No copy group is needed. For each account you can set:

  • Daily profit target
  • Daily loss limit
  • Trades limit per day
  • Contract cap: the largest position, in contracts, the account should carry
  • Symbol lockout: instruments the account should stay out of

Enforce, per account

Every account has its own Enforce switch, and nothing is enforced until you switch it on for that account and save. With Enforce off, the rules are monitoring only: they're saved and shown, but nothing is cancelled, flattened or blocked. With Enforce on, Replica acts on a confirmed breach on that account:

  • Daily profit, daily loss or trades limit reached: Replica cancels the account's working orders, flattens it and locks it. The lock lifts at the 17:00 Chicago time trading-day rollover, or when you change and save that account's settings.
  • Contract cap or symbol lockout broken: the offending trade is flattened and the account re-arms. On a follower, a copy that would break the rule is not sent.
  • No guessing. If Replica can't prove a rule's inputs from fresh broker data, it holds new exposure instead of flattening from a guess. Closing and reducing a position still work.

Soft lock

Lock your settings for 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, a day, a week, or a custom time. Until the timer runs out, the Edit button is hidden, so you can't loosen your rules mid-session.

Enforce runs on your PC. It sends real cancel and flatten orders to your broker, but only while Replica is open and connected; it is not a broker-side limit. Try it on a practice account first, and keep your prop firm's and broker's own risk limits as the primary safety net.

Performance & Journal

Your trades. Your notes. Your progress.

Every trade on your connected accounts is logged for you. The Performance section turns that history into a review, filtered by account and period.

  • Dashboard: the last 30 days across all accounts at a glance.
  • Performance & Review: win rate, profit factor, average win against average loss, cumulative P&L, drawdown, daily P&L, win rate over time and results by symbol.
  • Monthly PNL: a calendar of each day's result.
  • Trades: the trade list, showing your last 10, 30, 50 or all trades.
  • Net, not gross. Commissions and exchange fees are already taken out, so the journal matches what hit your account.
  • Journaling: notes pages you organise yourself, with text blocks and pasted screenshots, for plans and session reviews.
  • Economic: an interactive globe of the news affecting each country, coloured by impact, with an economic calendar. Refreshes every few minutes.
  • P&L card: a shareable card of the day's P&L with your handle, on your own background image or video. Copy it as an image or save it.
Best practices

A clean workflow on a steady machine.

Because Replica runs on your own computer, latency is low and you stay in full control. It also means your setup matters. Your broker's response time, your internet connection and your computer's spare capacity all play a part.

  • Start flat. If an account is holding something from before, run Flatten All on the group before you start the session.
  • Glance, don't babysit. A quick look at the Cockpit after each trade is enough to confirm it reached your followers and catch a mismatch early.
  • One login, one place. Rithmic and TopstepX limit how many places a login can be signed in at once. Don't open the same follower login on another platform while Replica is connected to it.
  • Use a wired connection. Ethernet is steadier than Wi-Fi.
  • Leave some headroom. Close heavy apps while you trade, especially when copying across many accounts.
  • Keep your PC on. Copying and Enforce only run while Replica is open.
Troubleshooting

When a connection drops.

Rithmic logged me out

Rithmic limits how many places one login can be active at the same time. If the same credentials sign in somewhere else, Rithmic may end Replica's session. Replica doesn't keep logging back in on its own; it marks the connection as disconnected so you can reconnect when you're ready.

A connection won't connect

For Tradovate, check you chose the right account type (most prop-firm accounts are Demo, not Live), then sign in again. For Rithmic, check the exact System name, your market-data agreements, and whether the same credentials are already active elsewhere. For ProjectX, check the platform username (which may differ from your email), API key, and provider gateway settings.

Send a diagnostic report

From Support in the app, you can deliberately send a sanitized report covering 2–7 days. It includes recent activity/runtime diagnostics, app/system information, and available broker order and fill history for that window. Broker passwords, API keys, and live session tokens are excluded. Uploaded support reports are private and automatically expire after 7 days. You can also reach us on Discord.

Security & updates

Your broker logins stay on your computer.

  • Stored locally, encrypted by default. Broker passwords and API keys stay encrypted on your Windows profile.
  • Tradovate sessions stay alive for up to 72 hours. For every Tradovate connection, Replica automatically sends the current Tradovate session token to its server, where it is stored encrypted, so the server can keep that same session renewed while the app is closed. The keepalive uses only that token, never your password. The server only renews the session; it never places orders. It stops, and the stored token is deleted, 72 hours after the app last checked in, or earlier when you disconnect or delete that connection or delete your Replica account. See the Privacy Policy.
  • Direct to your broker. Orders go from your computer to your broker, with no middleman.
  • Signed updates. Replica checks for updates when it starts and only installs releases signed by us.
Not in Replica yet

What the app doesn't do today.

So there are no surprises, these are things people sometimes expect from a copier that Replica doesn't offer right now:

  • Mirroring resting entry orders. A leader's working limit or stop entry is not placed on followers; entries are copied when they fill, at market.
  • Brackets on every broker. Native take-profit and stop-loss brackets are copied only from a Tradovate leader to Tradovate followers. Other followers hold the single protective order described in What gets copied.
  • Trailing stops, stop-limit orders and ATM strategies are not copied.
  • A broker-side risk limit. Enforce runs inside Replica on your PC, so it only acts while the app is open and connected.
  • A cloud or VPS version. Replica is a desktop app. The cloud plan is in the works.
  • NinjaTrader and other platforms beyond the supported Tradovate, ProjectX (Topstep) and Rithmic connections.
  • An affiliate or referral program.
