The prop firm playbook
A calm system for running many prop firm accounts
Run one plan across many evaluation and funded accounts: grouping, sizing, daily limits per account and a fast way out.
Five or ten prop firm accounts are easy to buy and hard to run by hand. Here is a setup that keeps them under control.
1. Group accounts by plan, not by firm
Put accounts that should trade the same way in one copy group. A group can mix firms and brokers: a Rithmic leader with Tradovate and TopstepX followers works.
2. Size each account for its own drawdown
A $50K account and a $150K account should not carry the same risk. Give each follower its own multiplier, or trade micros on the smaller ones and minis on the bigger ones.
3. Put daily limits on every account
Set a daily loss limit, a daily profit target and a trades-per-day limit per account, a little inside each firm's own limits. In Replica, Enforce closes and locks an account that breaches its daily limit until the 17:00 Chicago reset, and Soft lock stops you from loosening the rules mid-session.
4. Keep one copier per account
Two copiers on one account double every trade. If your firm's platform has its own copier, turn it off on accounts Replica copies into.
5. Know your way out
When things go wrong, one click should close everything. Flatten All closes a whole group, leader included, and confirms with each broker that the accounts are flat.
6. Review every account
Look at each account's results, not only the total. A per-account performance view shows which accounts are near their drawdown before they hit it.
