Contract rollover
Trade the new month on the leader; followers follow.
Futures contracts expire. Equity index futures (ES, NQ, RTY, YM and their micros) expire in March, June, September and December, and most volume moves to the next month about a week before.
How Replica handles it
- The exact contract is copied. A leader fill in NQZ6 is copied as NQZ6 (or MNQZ6 for a Micro follower). Replica never guesses a front month.
- Closing an old month always works, on every broker: exits, protective orders and Flatten use the contract the follower actually holds.
- TopstepX: a new entry is sent only in a contract TopstepX marks as active. Once TopstepX rolls, a leader entry in the old month is refused on followers with a clear reason.
- Max Minis and Max Micros count per exact contract, so the old and new month count separately.
What you do
- In roll week, trade the new month on the leader. Followers follow by themselves.
- Close old-month positions through the leader, or with Flatten. Do not close them only on a follower.
- Do not hold positions into expiry; your firm or broker may close them.
No setting in Replica needs to change. Groups, multipliers and risk rules carry over.
