TopstepX trade copier: what Topstep allows and how to set it up
What ProjectX and TopstepX are, how to copy trades across Topstep accounts, and how take-profit and stop-loss work on TopstepX followers.
ProjectX is a trading platform; TopstepX is Topstep's version of it. Replica connects to TopstepX accounts through the ProjectX API, using your platform username and an API key.
Setting it up
- Get a ProjectX API key for your login.
- In Replica's Connections, choose ProjectX (Topstep) and enter your username and key.
- Turn TopstepX's own copier off on any account Replica copies into, so trades are not copied twice.
Take-profit and stop-loss
TopstepX followers get both the leader's take-profit and stop-loss when Auto OCO is switched on for the group in Replica and on the account in TopstepX. Otherwise they hold the stop only, so a follower never has two unlinked exits.
Topstep's rules (checked October 18, 2026): API orders must come from your own device, not from a VPS or remote server, so run Replica on your own PC for Topstep accounts. Topstep's Live Funded accounts cannot use the ProjectX API or a copier. See TopstepX API access.
Copy in and out of TopstepX
